Maine DOC vs. Boston College Debate Economy-Wide Carbon Tax

The National Prison Debate League (NPDL) is partnering with the State of Maine Department of Corrections and the Boston College Debate Team.

The National Prison Debate League (NPDL) is warming up our Spring season with an environmental policy debate which examines the economics of saving the planet.

Resolved: The United States Federal Government should enact an economy-wide carbon tax.

NPDL Executive Director Daniel Throop will be on-site to moderate as Boston College’s prestigious Fulton Debating Society travels north to argue in the affirmative, face-to-face against a joint team of incarcerated students from Maine Correctional Center (MCC) & Mountain View Correctional Facility (MVCF) who will make the case against the imposition of such a tax. Even the coaching matchup is going to be interesting as this contest pits BC’s legendary John Katsulas against NPDL volunteer and American Debate Association President Patrick Waldinger of the University of Miami. Who will prevail? Tune in on April 11th at 5:30 PM EST and find out!
