Gender equality takes center stage on April 18th at 1:00 PM EST as a combined team of incarcerated students from Maine DOC’s Women’s Center (WC) & Southern Maine Women’s Reentry Center (SMWRC) aim to uncook the books on America’s wage gap against Harvard University’s Debating Union.

Resolved: The United States Congress should enact the Paycheck Fairness Act.

The Maine team, coached by NPDL volunteer and former University of Georgia Debate Director Ed Panetta will argue in favor of this resolution while Harvard, led by Debate Director Tripp Rebrovik, will take the negative position on this issue. NPDL Assistant Director Brittany LaMarr will moderate this powerful event and we hope you’ll join us to witness history in the making as the voices of women are amplified on this important policy discussion.
