National Prison Debate League Launch at 12th National Conference on Higher Education in Prison (NCHEP)

The NPDL is very excited to be partnering with the Alliance for Higher Education in Prison to officially launch our programming at their 12th Annual National Conference on Higher Education in Prison (NCHEP).  The Alliance has kindly offered this space for the NPDL to show the world the power of prison education personified. By placing incarcerated students on a stage to match wits with the brightest collegiate minds of the day, the NPDL seeks to clearly demonstrate the intellectual and redemptive capacity of incarcerated learners.

The NPDL is also very grateful to the Maine Department of Corrections, whose administration has been very receptive to both our programming and other prison educational programs. Maine DOC should be applauded for their progressive approach to educational accessibility and looked to as a model by other states who aspire to improve human outcomes.

Please visit the Alliance’s website, higheredinprison.org, to learn more about conference registration if you’re interested in viewing the debate event.
